The Reality Veil

I sketched this piece during a deeply stressful moment of my life.  I was  CTO (Chief Tech Officer) of Wonga.com. It was the fastest growing site in the history of the Internet in Europe. Customers were at times signing up at the rate of thousands per hour. This was all on top of an idealistic platform that a few of us pulled together over a couple of months in the Wonga early days. Yes it was ground-breaking, but it was also young, optimistic and fragile. Part of the challenge was the unknown. You can only disrupt an industry when you know nothing about it.
